Department of Highways District 6
District 6 maintains State and Federal roadways for the northern 11
counties in Kentucky. These counties are Boone, Bracken,
Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Harrison, Kenton, Owen,
Pendleton, and Robertson.
State and Federal roadways are all interstates
highways and state roads. All state and federal roads have a
name with a number and the state or federal classification.
These include I for interstate (ex: I-75) or
KY for a Kentucky state road (ex: KY-16) or US
for a federal highway (ex: US-25).
District 6 ONLY maintains state and federal
roads. District 6 does not maintain county or city roads.
To report a county road hazard, please notify the appropriate county
or city. A list of county road maintenance department is
located here.
The general rule of thumb for county roads maintenance departments
are that they maintain all roads that are not state or federal (ex:
KY 8, US 25, I-75 ) and not within city boundaries.
To report city road hazards it is usually easiest to call the
appropriate city maintenance department or city hall.
I understand that district 6 only maintains state
and federal roads and want to submit an electronic report to the
Northern Kentucky highway Safety committee .

The committee screens the submittals and forwards them on to
District 6. If you would like to submit a hazard via the
telephone; contact District 6 at 859.341.2700 |
